BROWN MACKIE COLLEGE WORTHLESS

I was a former BMC STUDENT at Boise Idaho, I spent over $28,000 for an associates degree that the IDAHO STATE POLICE won't recognize. When I took the tour of the campus they showed me pictures of what they said were graduates in there field of study working. Those pictures are actual students in there externships, total misrepresentation. I specifically told them my career plans, they all agreed and said yes this is what you need. I spoke with numerous students who had the same experience, the associates degree in business is a joke, there are no employers hiring for that degree, but the enrollment coordinators and career services director all say there are tons of jobs, maybe call center or meaningless positions. This school is a total rip off, they will say what ever they have to get you to sign up. They charge $1388 per class, you can go to CWI for $288 per class. CWI credits transfer to all 4 year schools, BMC credits will not transfer that means you have to take that class over again and pay again and your time all over. BMC employees will tell you every college has there own way of determining what transfers, so they don't know. They know, they will differ the question so the truth is never shared. I am ashamed to say my 2years was a waste, yes it's my fault I signed on the dotted line, I was fooled that the enrollment people really cared, they care about #s they have to enroll so many a month, etc. I want to share my story so other people can be cautious about this school.

Nearly every BMC runs on the same misguided principle. Just "get them in the door" and then allow their wrongful business approach take care of the rest. Most of you know the drill - academics will pass students with no regard to any actual knowledge of a subject. Often the student doesn't even show up for class. An instructor makes contact on the phone or through some type of online function (email, portal, etc) and they will be counted as present and funds will continue to flow through the fed loan system. Once accounted for, the dean will make sure the "instructors" pass the student regardless of their (student, not the dean) incompetence. It's a sham all the way through. Poor career services then has to find a way to meet some GE guideline even though there is no way in this world a person is qualified to be a fry cook, much less a nurse or computer tech or anything else. Sad.

A 2 year degree is worthless by itself, but it can hold some value on your resume once you get a 4 year degree or higher. As in look at all the degrees I have. Maybe in your parents or grandparents day, a 2 year still had some value but really today a 4 year college degree is about the same as saying you went to high school. Its the minimum most people have in the professional working world. Masters and PHD used to be for the very few, now its common place. It all shifted up about 2 decades ago.

Sorry pal, but no one hires for associates degree especially in business with the MILLIONS of people with a bachelor's in business. Also, a sad reality check but a large portion of edmc employees are 'call center meaningless positions' but they're all making between $40k and $90k. Additionally, a bachelor's degree is a requirement to work in admissions (at least it is now)...I'm sure you'd be pretty happy with either of those numbers though. The transfer credit thing is tough but honestly I'm not sure why anyone would get an associate's these days. Jump on the lawsuit bandwagon my man and next time get the criminal justice degree if you're trying to be a cop...

I went to this school in Boise for 3 months, everything they told to get me to sign up was a lie. The teachers don't care, and once your in the admissions team say I didn't say that or you misunderstood what I was saying. This is a for profit college and they are all about making money for them. Stay away
