McAfee has been totally useless for more than a decade by now. I'm surprised the name is still around at all!
Got to know today that close to 100 folks in different geos have been shown the door - mostly sales and support staff.. Does anyone have more info?
Technically they cannot hire or advertise for the same position as a replacement for 12 months after a layoff. How they can justify that legally I am not sure....especially when they use generic titles to describe everyone in the company as "SOC Engineer" or "Component Engineer" whether you are a RCG or a 20+yr employee.
I do know a couple people that challenged this law/regulation and got settlements from their former employers but they were in retail management.
That's also what made this whole layoff a joke. They are laying off but have to fill those positions because they were understaffed to begin with. At least that's the case in my department

Just because they are hiring don't let that fool you into thinking no layoffs will come. They are hiring in all the other areas they let people go from as well.
