I heard that some Houston positions will be filled by people out of Burplesville, all provided they are on their own to move. No company sponsored relocation. Ouch.

The Bville property market has already collapsed. Zillow can show you that. 25% decline since 2011.
Yep, feeling the love. 'Anonymous156897', or 'sick of it', or any other poster who can use absolutely any pseudonym including posting under mine, come find me. 600 N. Dairy Ashford in glorious sun-kissed Houston. Come to the main floor of Tarkington building and start yelling "Haywood Jablowme". Let's see who they fire first.
I'm slowly starting to dislike Bartlesville as it seems somewhat of a black hole where even intelligent thought and comments cannot escape.
In reality, new roles in Houston and old roles in Bartlesville. The old roles are to be abolished. A meet and greet with the manager, an notification of the new role and an opportunity to immediately accept the new role or be terminated on the spot. The process is within the guidelines of the severance. Not accepting the role results in immediate termination and no severance. And the salary for the new role will not be the salary for the old role. And as noted, relocation is the burden of the employee and not the employer.
Haywood, you are an embarrassment. Hope
they figure out who you are and tell you to hit the road. No Company has a place for someone with your foul mouth and negativity.
Expats were moved to Bartlesville due to the excess of company owned homes in Bartlesville. Expect a collapse in the property market in Bartlesville. Th expats are going home and the employees are going to Houston. The better paid senior employees bought homes in Tulsa and not Bartlesville. Heaven on earth, Bartlesville.
Hey Anonymous156897, I was actually feeling sorry for the raw deal people up there were getting. You however, sound like the kind of person looking for a spouse at the next family reunion. And the fact that you are projecting your inadequicies of a weak mind and small dick means you speak from experience. You can find me at 600 N. Dairy Ashford. Tarkington building.
I love Bartlesville and would refuse to move to that shithole Houston even if it were offered. You Haywood on the other hand are nothing but a troll. Weak minded with a little dick. Too bad I can’t actually find you it would be worth trip to Houston to kick your ass.
I've been told that my job will be going to Houston and will be absorbed by the existing staff there. They're now trying to find out what I actually do - which is a lot more than they thought. I'm going to be professional and wind up what I can and provide training if it's asked for. The people taking on my work didn't make the decision to let me go. I've been in their shoes post-layoff and it's no fun.
The gravy train was centralizing to Houston from places like Midland with full relocation. I doubt COP was stuck with any home there. "Retiring" in Bville is fine for those who want to stomach it. Getting laid off, needing work and then paying for the privilege of moving to work for the company threatening to leave your ass in Tartlesville is doubly insulting. I can't imagine what company loyalty would remain, and why COP would continue to want to employee people like that. "Hey...for $50,000 you can move to Houston and continue to work for us. We're certain there will be no animosity between us at all!!!"
Haywood you are right, some jobs are moving to Houston. The people in those positions currently are not all making the move to Houston. Only a couple will be transferred with the BU taking on the added responsibility of doing the work. Personnel in Houston are currently being trained by the persons being laid off. Hope this makes you and others in Holstein feel better and more secure.
Whatever. Wish on B-ville guy. Dying town like the rest.
500 laid off in Houston and no one qualified. Apparently not you 😃
ConocoPhillips owns enough real estate in Bartlesville due to prior employee relocation. No buyers in Bartlesville for homes. Relocation packages cost the company between $50,00 and $150,000 for non-international relocation.
