An accountant mentioned that upper mgt has turned in a list to axe, however they continue to request bigger and bigger numbers.
Anyone have more insight on this. Is this what is delaying the mass exodus.

how many idiots can post in one site?
Wow, can tell most of you have never been through a corporate housecleaning before. If you have reviews that are doesn't meet expectations it's no brainer you need to go, meets but doesn't exceed little late to pick up your pace. Exceeds, you're pretty safe unless you're in a department that's way over staffed & you're not the only exceeds (look closely at your co-worker's noses). Managers give input in addition to performance, so no guarantees to any of you. I survived 20years of 3 reorgs and 2 buyouts in telecom. I took a package rather than move out of state for the last go around in 2011. Wish you all the best.
In Land there probably more upper level land personnel (ie land mangers etc) than rigs in the field. This would seem like a good place for the company to save money.
No names out of a hat. Remember, we've been doing metrics on people for two years now. Almost every department has a distribution between exceeding, meeting and below expectations. If you are below or on the low end of meets, you're on the block.
I don't understand how upper management could have the slightest clue on who should stay and who should go. They're too far away to make those calls unless they solicit advice from their Directors and Managers. Things could get way worse if they're going to simply pull names out of a hat or cut only high salary people.
I heard they were laying off 1,000 people from Land, IT and Legal. Hopefully this is false, that kind of layoff will not just affect the families involved but it will affect OKC as a whole.
Still plenty of hard workers in my building. Don't know if it will help, but it keeps the skills sharp.
There aren't any hard workers left they all went to AEP. I think Aubrey still has that slogan "hard work, works here" the people that didn't go to AEP are obviously not hard workers.
Working hard! Why didn't I think of that because only the people who aren't hard workers get laid off! And all this time I thought it was who you were friends with and whose ass you kissed kept you from being laid off. Sure am glad someone cleared that up for me!
Hmm, if they only plan on keeping the people who work hard, they should bring all 17 of them into a conference room and fire everyone else remaining.
If you're working hard you should not have anything to worry about.
