My vacation hours are almost at the cap, so it will be a sweet consolation in a time of needs. Once Qualcomm, followed the footsteps of other asshole high-tech companies, implements "unlimited vacation" they will be save money during lay-offs, since they no longer have to pay any accrued and unused vacation time. Unlimited vacation = you will be too scared and stressed to use any = 0 vacation pay accrued. Seriously, unionize now or be swindled until all your jobs are shipped oversea.

Vacations are part of a healthy lifestyle. We have life beyond work and we owe time to family and friends! I dunno why some ppl make big deal out of their work life and make everyone around them suffer? No one is irreplacable for any organization and so start loving your family and friends! Work is one part of person's life, work is not life.
That's a very interesting point. My friend's employer has this policy, and I consider it to be a lousy deal. I always take all of my vacation, and I never feel guilty about it. If QC didn't offer a set number of days, I could see some employees feeling guilty for taking much if any vacation.
