Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Qualcomm is not a good place to work anymore there is no stability/security

It was a really hard long sad day. Waiting to hear news about yourself and seeing your coworkers are impacted for 8 hours. It was too much. I see many engineers around me thinking of leaving Qualcomm since there is no stability/security and peace of mind to work here anymore. Qualcomm was famous for stability and taking a good care of their employees. Even during 2008 recession which all companies had many layoffs Qualcomm was the one with almost no impact.

Motorola has went through this way and tried to cut cost by laying off and look where it is now. I don't think cutting the cost this way helps company in long run. Good engineers don't work for shaky companies, existing employee won't have their best outcome when they don't feel secure.

By the way, I haven't been impacted.

You Qcom folks have been spoiled for so long now and have been ungrateful for how good you had it for all of these years. Nobody feels sorry for you.

Management has let down all employees. They could not care less about what happens to the company or to the people as long as they collect their huge bonuses.

I am glad I am out of there.
