I scan dozens of resumes for a well-known semiconductor company and always immediately discard resumes with AMD as their most recent employer. Working for AMD just tells me that person was desperate and working for AMD was their very last choice.

😂 Hahahaha what a timeline. Hope OP isn't too bothered
This post has aged nicely 👌
this didnt age well
Its true, no one has joined AMD for a good career prospect. Everyone joined AMD because they are desperate :
-
LISA SU : Joined and working in AMD as CEO getting considerable less pay then the previous CEO Rory read
-
MARK PAPERMASTER : He was thrown away from Apple
-
RAJA KADOURI : Thrown away from Apple, Not joined Intel
-
DEVENDER KUMAR : Cannot change the company. Stuck at AMD
These are top brass at AMD. Everyone including top brass and kind of stuck and they are not able to compete in the indrustry.
Funny, I've interviewed guys from "well-known semiconductor companies" and can't figure out what they do. They check a log file for errors and let someone else know when they find one. Sounds like these companies are full of talent.
No company is stable in this industry. Just ask people who left AMD to go to places like Samsung, Qualcomm, or Intel. Layoffs layoffs layoffs ....
I used to work with a couple current AMD guys at Cadence. Everybody was so glad when they left. They took their incompetence and BS with them to AMD. Good riddance.
I agree with OP. Why would anybody be proud to work for this loser company?
Sup di-k ? Get off your high and mighty unicorn POS ... ever heard of loyalty ? No .. how would you know Mr. "I work for a well-known semiconductor company". You're one of those people who would abandon ship and back stab your own team mates or even friends for more money or promotion. Your time will come ...
