Hopefully you have a good relationship at work and if you get impacted, just ask your peers and colleagues to help you out. Most people in the community understand the situation and surprisingly will help you out...if you weren't a dick while working with others. And if you were a dick...well, that sort of is your fault...maybe you should stop being a dick.

Don't know what you guys are smoking have you seen your Mgr/Dir. peers treat people outside of Qualcomm? They treat people like shit and announce that they work at Qualcomm... as if they are superior, I don't know where this west asian complex comes from but it pollutes the good nature of SD.

It doesn't mean anything. I've been a dick at every company I worked at. It's called "standing your ground". I still got a lot of help. Being submissive is a pussy. No wonder why most engineers are pussies or have no backbones. That's what I call being a real dick. What's your point? That is true. Don't be a dick and people will look out for you. I have never been a dick to anyone in my life except occasionally my girlfriend which I always regret and I was rif'd earlier this year. I had one coworker colluding with the manager to get me terminated and this individual was successful. This individual also gave me a bad review while everyone else gave me a Great review. I'm guessing that this individual had been colluding or perhaps having sex with my manager. At least that was the rumor. Regardless I got terminated and thankfully found a job very easily because of my good relationships with everyone else. If you take the time out of your day to walk around and shoot the shit with your fellow employees you'll be well-liked. Unfortunately the most difficult person to get along with is usually the individual whose job most closely resembles Your own. I think it's territorialism
I guess it is too late for the directors to"undo being a freaking dick"... One of the many reasons people are quiet fired up is due to these dirs mistreating, disrespecting employees and talking down to them... Expecting and demanding folks to bend over for them...... I was very glad to have been contacted to provide review input regarding this one miserable Dir who sent his resume to some guy in another company... World is getting smaller... Be nice, at the very least not blatantly disrespectful to your fellow coworkers. Never know when you will be needing their help.
There is no shame or no humility in asking for help. Especially in San diego, the community is so small, that at one point or the other you either worked for someone or managed that same person and vice versa. Loyalty never really lies with corporations, big or small. It has always been through the network of your friends and colleagues...when some of my colleagues were let go at a competitor, our peers did everything they could to find the.something at the Q. And now that he tables are turned, the same peers that went elsewhere are helping some of the old Q colleagues to find something else. We all have been in a Dilbert company moment. We've allexperienced layoffs the same way. And we all bleed the same way. So come on guys, the few you you that insist on being a dick, just cut it out. Because you never know when your turn is next to be on the chopping block, wherever you may be.
