Why is no one talking about the people who are missing from the office. People are just leaving I have asked my supervisor but he dances around the subject

The numbers compared to the likes of Chevron are minimal. If your laid off its huge of course. Exxon will get smaller by forced ranking/attrition. They are not hiring. This is the plan for head count cost control.
Oil is 28 dollars today
I feel sorry for Chevron employees in Houston like myself. No one is talking about it but massive layoff coming soon
Wow, could there be different treatments for different CL levels? Even worse!
Four months???? I heard a different package. 3wks/per year of service. Max 60wks. Plus partial bonus for this year
Four months severance is pretty lousy for someone who invested decades with the company. The old standard was two weeks per year of service.
Exxon can't even man up and admit what it is doing. We were told in a recent employee forum that there were absolutely no layoffs. They are essentially lying to their employees. Shameful.
Everyone is tight lipped because it's worse than the 2000s on 08. Maybe even worse than the 80s. Just depends on how long this down cycle last. Predictions don't look good. And the severance package is voided if terms are disclosed. Everything is very confidential
Why is no one talking about it on here? There is obviously interest by the views but no one speaks about it ........... Is this how it was in the 80's, 2000's and 2008's? Why is everyone tight lipped?
I suppose they regard this as private personnel matter, so cannot talk about it. However, other coworkers can. It is a stealth layoff.
