Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Does FMLA Leave (Family and Medical Leave Act) impact Focal rating?

I plan to take FMLA for 8-12 weeks to take care of a family member who has serious clinical depression, I have been working in Intel for 14 years and near age 50. Over the past 3 years I had 1 SSL4 and 2 SSL3. Any suggestion? just take FMLA and wait for next ISP?

If you take FMLA for 12 weeks, at the next focal session everyone else will have 52 weeks of accomplishments while you only have 40 weeks of accomplishments plus "FMLA for 12 weeks". How do you think you'll fare in that R&R session?

@152331: Don't think that matters. The way Intel HR rolls, then the ISPs are not caused by these conditions. Instead they manufacture some derivative and use that as an excuse. Like this recent round that clearly was age discrimintation, instead they found some some other related factor and exploited that.

Just as the case for sabbaticals then it's going to impact the SSL levels. I disagree with 152108 though, Intel HR at this time is not acting rationally (hasn't for some time now) and I wouldn't put re-using SSLs beyond them. My take: do what you need to do. If it triggers an ISP then the company isn't worth working for anyways, and there's plenty options outside, especially if you are in the Bay area.

Sorry, if I was your Intel manager I would probably give you an SSL4/5 for your leave, but you will still be "Successful". With the backlash from the last time, I doubt Intel will use Successful/SSL4/5s for ISP again.
