Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Qualcomm used to be a good company. Now the MBAs and Lawyers running the company will make it non player in the years to come.

Most companies with integrity operate with employees in mind. They cut salaries, reduce 401k matching etc but keep the employee employeed. Qualcomm is paving the way to ignore the employees and support the greed of investors and their own bank accounts. This company has 30+ billion in cash with hardly no debt and they are cutting a meager 1.4Billion in expenses to improve its faked position. I have never seen a weathly company screw over so many good employees with such a selfish greedy move. America is going down and Qualcomm is helping. Good luck to us all.

Wall street does not care about money in the bank, it cares about how much more will come in the next quarter. So all this is window dressing for the next quarter and upcoming open house where company will be put on sale to the highest bidder. They don't care about employees any more because they don't need them anymore- simple as that.

Yes! Great idea! Let's organize and go out! Spread the news! Each one of us call the press! Let's make everyone know who they really are!

You're right. You're all right. So.... What would happen if we staged a company-wide walkout on Monday morning and protested on the sidewalks just outside the parking lots? Especially if they are already going to fire a lot of us? Pick a time and a place. There are a few people you need to alert so that any security QCOM hires, and any police that show up, behave themselves. Notify the TV stations in S.D. AND Los Angeles. The latter is important, because the Jacobs have very little influence there. (It's not like they own a football team.) Notify the U-T (just for sh*ts and giggles), the LA Times (Steve Lopez would probably be your best bet.) the NY Times local office, and WIRED magazine. If you know local tech bloggers, invite them. You also should have a Civil Rights Attorney on speed dial. I recommend Eugene Iredale and Julia Yoo. They are the best in the business. (I have no connection to them, financially or professionally.) Do this first. Don't forget to wear your FREE "Why wait...." t-shirts. They not only fit the occasion, they contrast really well with police and sheriff's deputies uniforms. So if law enforcement pulls any crap, it will show up really well on those new body cameras.

I believe PJ destroyed the company and now SM is his scapegoat. Of course he is a very well compensated scapegoat.. Hell you can blame it all on me for an 8 figure salary !!

S&M and PJ and the rest of the board need to be fired. No salaries should be cut and no 401k matches reduced until all of their existing, unvested RSUs are cancelled. They are the ones that ran the companies into the ground, not the low level employees who they want to lay off.
