Thread regarding Weatherford International Ltd. layoffs

Close WFT manufacturing locations

I don't know why they don't just shut down WFT manufacturing locations. Third party vendors offer much better pricing and delivery times.

They've already shut down several locations over the past few years. Why not finish it out and be done with that cash flow black hole?

Not just VPs, but even lower level managers as well. I could e-mail a manager planning a visit with the proper numbers for our district because of a discrepancy with TOPS(we were placing a lot of equipment offline, but hadn't received the go ahead to do it yet, but it jumped our numbers from the 50-60% range to the 80-90% range, all while still being understaffed before they even started the layoffs), only to have to hear in the meeting how the manager was disappointed in our numbers because he hadn't bothered to look at my e-mail to get the numbers that we actually had.

I'm afraid I have to agree.... way to many made up positions as VP.... The problem really lies in the fact that the managers at all levels, top down do not know how to manage people. They think that managing a report or a system (IT) is all it takes to run a company..... The VP's that I knew in WFT and there were more than I care to remember, thought they were god, stuck their nose in their phone when walking, never acknowledge your existence until they got in trouble from the one above them, then they usually sent someone else to talk to you... they were to afraid to have a face to face conversation. Most of the time it was probably because they couldn't look at their phone and have a conversation at the same time.... but mostly they don't know crap about what they are supposed to do and never learned to talk to their people.

Just saying!!!!!

No you're not. Most are made up positions to keep people on that should have been gone a long time ago. You might be the exception, there are some. But as a whole, way too many made up VP positions in this company.

I'm a WFT VP, underpaid as a matter of fact, and also worried like everybody else about my future with WFT. Like everybody in the patch I have bills to pay. So please get off our VPs backs, we are doing our best in difficult times.

Too many overpaid VP's would lose their jobs.
