Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel needs another round of ISP

Still too many deadwood at Intel. This round should cut 10%, not 2%.

@Intel HR/Legal Dept:

Back your claim with facts or you're just full of it (as usual). Neigther the "Separation and Release Agreement" nor the TSAF had any clauses to that effect.

Crawl back under the rock you came from and take your legal parasites with you.

Those agreeing to the terms of the ISP are forbidden from discussing their situation through any media outlets. Please cease from doing so or we will take legal actions.

ISP is good. I took home $100K, free health care paid by Intel until end of Jan 2016 , a new job 4 day after ISP letter, pay increase with the new company, better health care and a healthy work environment. Real losers are Inside Intel..

@149797: That and the fact that the rules changed in a manner very few were aware of. And then of course there the age bias in their selection, it was not just R&R stock results thas were used. Many managers were surprized by that move too, some gave less stock and more cash for other reasons. Intel HR is run by a bunch of criminals imho, racist and discriminatory hiring practices, wage surpressing collusions, illegal blacklisting (OR), etc. Surprizingly it seems there still are gullible people trusting the company, despite overwhelming facts to the contrary. How many years now has Intel failed to produce something competitive in mobile (actually more interesting question is why go there in the first place, no profits there). In some ways the ISP was not that bad (apart from the involutary part) for the affected, as in a years worth of pay + healthcare windfall in addition to income from new job. The loosers are Intel and the groups who now have to hire incompetents to backfill the lost expertise (or abandon projects). Just look at the job adds and how slowly they are being filled?

I am still surprised by those let go after the last ISP versus those who are still here at Intel. It is obvious to me that the last layoff was NOT performance based. It's just that those let go were not able to, or their manager, was not able to toot their own horn during focals.

I would cut all managers with less than 10 direct reports. There is simply too much hierarchy in many Intel organizations, with the Individual contributors doing all of the work and the managers taking most of the credit.

I agree with another 1k manager layoff. I remember when this was applied a few years ago, it was widely applauded by most Intel employees.

We need another 1000 managers layoff.

Hmm, if this Ken guy was Chief Strategy Officer and left after only a few months, that says a lot about Intel's strategy...or lack of one.

That sure didn't last long, did it? I wonder why only a few months. Might have been his choice and not the other way around.

There is an internal site to query all current and past Intel employees. Ken was corporate officer, start date Feb 23 2015, terminated Aug 4 2015

yes, I saw that 147770 (after Googling it. lol). I'm an Intel employee and I still say "Who??". He was pretty invisible to me. If I didn't know better (probation is no longer, I believe) I'd say he didn't pass his probation since it's just a squeak over 6 months now. No idea what happened to him.

I saw a Forbes article/interview with Genevieve Bell dated 7/16/15 saying she reported to him. There one day, gone the next.

I agree. A direct email to BK to encourage more layoffs and elimination of execs and managers is best.

I think suggestion for more lay-off is valid. It is better posted in Intel internal blog and should be well received there.

Yes, investors and dedicated Intel employees would like to see layoffs of people with limited contributions.

Is this the right place to discuss a need for more layoff? Why? Do you want to see more isp to join us here?

I would broaden ISP to all grade levels this time around, and include managers with 5 or less direct reports.
