By this thread many people who have first experience with an EDMC school doubt the company will exist in three years and certainly won't be shocked if it folds. In other words ---- who knows if the students signing up for a BA degree this fall will be able to graduate. Too horrible! What if that was you, or your son, or your daughter starting school? DO SOMETHING! Spread the word about how poorly these schools are being run into the ground.
Carla Caldwell will still be in business servicing the employees in the parking lot though..
I agree with 799. I expect the company will go through a few more spasms, but I give it about 3 years before it flatlines. The AI in Philadelphia has announced that its main building will now house an Old Navy on the first three floors. What does that tell you?
I'm with 900. I check these boards now and again as a former AI faculty member for many years. I left when I saw AI was going a direction that I didn't want to join. I give EDMC a max of 3 years only because I can't imagine the governments wants another COCO. STUDENTS LEAVE NOW! I hate that they are still enrolling students into these schools.
Let's setup a betting pool for the crash date!
I see this place going under before the end of 2016. sorry but im not optimistic anymore. I finally got a decent job teaching at a community college. So im lucky. I quit 2weeks pre last rounds of layoffs. I wish everyone else the best. Students get ALL FASFA papers, and SEALED transcripts NOW. Cut your losses and MOVE ON!
Hey when academic counselors making between $70-$80k a year they will stay as long as they can.
I think by the end of the year... So many rats are gonna jump ship!
Maybe not even that long!
I think you are too optimistic. I put the over/under at 3 years.
10 years. With so many colleges going to online degrees and the government thumb, For-Profit Schools will be going the way of the dinosaurs in less than a decade.
