I stopped by the HyVee in New Hope a week ago. If Target and Cub has anything to be afraid about, it should be HyVee. The offerings might make it less convenient for me to go to Target or Cub. Considering they are building one in view of TNC, I would image TGT folk will be scoping it out.

When SuperTarget first opened up, they had a real deli, real meat counter and a real bakery, and they did a bang up job. Then WalMart unionized a stores meat cutter and Target got scared and then went to the 6month old gassed meats, prepacked deli and heat and eat bakery. They killed the whole grocery experience, they were leaps and bounds over WalMart, but they had to screw it up....
This is a great place... Lots of variety not the same lame brand. State brand I'd OK if you don't care about the quality
Unfortunately Target's grocery experience is lacking because of really bad produce, a poor selection of meats and in general bad selection of most groceries. Instead of stocking half the aisle with the same brand, try to allow for a variety of brands and options. Target's grocery is very much like Soviet Union or Eastern Bloc style grocer.
I have noticed Fresh Tyme near American Blvd and Penn Ave. The ads are eye catching. Competition to nearby grocery stores.
Fresh tymes on Penn ave by southtown a mjier concept is awesome. Going to build six here in tc. Hyvee also has co branding at the new Vikings stadium. Targets new minnetonka store after they reinvented it is lame . lol target non Mpls super targets are all under preforming.
I too have been there and it is definitely a positive grocery experience.
Since the opening I have heard only positive comments from friends since the opening. Planning to check it out soon.
