Thread regarding Education Management Corporation layoffs

EDMC Employees - get ready to move on! Your boss is.

I left the company/college (Ai PGH Online Division) over year ago but I still have many friends there. Over the last few weeks, I've noticed that quite a few leadership team members have been re hauling/sprucing up their LinkedIn pages. In particular, the campus president created a new LinkedIn page. I can only assume these people are preparing to look for new jobs. In the last couple weeks, the President, HR director and a former manager of mine have all connected with me on LinkedIn. These are profiles that were mostly inactive for years. These 3 individuals are the epitome of the Kool-Aid drinking cronies of EDMC. If these people are getting ready to move on, you should be too.

Hey Former, if you read this - we probably know each other. We may have even played in the same fantasy football league. I left voluntarily as well and life is definitely better. I was an AC at AIO, as well as some other positions

I left during the "voluntary" stage this summer... I'm also seeing a lot of EDMC strikes on my linked in page. Too funny.

Razor...i left over a year ago as an AM at AIO and have had several old managers or higher contacting me on linked in....funny they never reached out to me in the past as i was scrambling to find work....i left voluntarily, had enough of the path the school was going on and made the jump. Yes I make less but do enjoy my life since leaving that shit hole..you will as well my friends but you better make the move before you have hundreds of people all looking for work at the same time...i did and glad to have done it...hire a head hunter and make it happen! Cheers!

The sad thing is that a lot of staff are going down with the ship because they know they'll have a hard time making a comparable salary anywhere else. If you're making 60-70k or more at EDMC and you're looking at taking a job for 45K somewhere else, I guess I can see why you would stay. Luckily, I was able to get a job where I'm actually making more many than before, but I think I'm in the minority.

Imagine that.. Travis Allen flees at AUO, Ed West steps down, management trying to cover own asses because they know ship is sinking. Everybody needs to look for new jobs as EDMC is doomed
