Can anyone tell me why the layoffs at NOV do not make the news, while other companies do?

Shit comes in several colors, shapes and size.
So the big boys(Schlumberger and Haliburton) don't care about stock holders and public image. I would think that the big boys got corporate lawyers as well, we all know they do. Why try to smoke screen the lay offs if anything it makes stock more attractive because of the reduced overhead. Just another example of trying to go against the follow of the industry.

Money! Any media coverage of the mass layoffs that are ongoing gives NOV a bad reputation to their shareholders / stock.
