This refers to AI campus locations. The overall tone definitely implies that more "adjustments" are coming. I found it interesting when Hardman said that no EDMC employees were affected. Who the hell did they work do?

Still looking for reliable info on online layoffs.

The Education Management Corp. has laid off 115 employees at its Art Institute schools across the country, with 10 people let go from its Pittsburgh location, the Downtown company confirmed today.

Positions were cut from “several” Art Institute campuses, said EDMC spokesman Chris Hardman, and included both faculty and staff. The layoffs were announced to employees earlier this week, he said.

“As our schools and the sector experience shifts in market demand, staffing must be adjusted accordingly,” Mr. Hardman said, emphasizing that the layoffs are not affecting EDMC employees.

The layoffs come days after the Pittsburgh for-profit education company announced it has a new CEO, Mark McEachen, who came to the company earlier this year. EDMC has struggled with falling admissions and declining profits for years, as the for-profit education industry has come under public scrutiny over recruiting practices.

In May, EDMC announced plans to shutter 15 of its 51 Art Institute campuses across the country, affecting 1,200 employees and more than 5,000 students. In June, it laid off 300 employees nationwide, including 70 in Pittsburgh.
