Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

Pathetic Posters

When the company was doing well y'all bragged about it and did not hesitate to be seen in each and every event or party, now your bitterness spills out. Poor Y & X gen, not valued enough for doing nothing, although they are entitled to.

I am 52, 115K annual, 9 years at CHK, no complaints. whines or such idiotic gestures. Per my boss, I was not axed since I always out performed and never needed daily re-affirmations that I was doing great. When half my team was laid off in 2013, i picked up the slack, kept quite appreciated the paycheck, it's how I was raised back where I came from (South America) following my Okie wife. I kept seeing those useless youngsters come in and think they own the world and every one has to kiss their behind and say thank you for coming. Facebook all day, Texting during work, you do not think that was OK did you?

Lesson # 1 a..holes, do not overrate yourself, work harder and shut the f..k up when told to do so. Truly enough, many did not deserve to go, but its how goes it, our CEO has nothing to do with commodity prices, I just hope waste lesson learned.

Winners win, Losers hate.

I agree with the op in that I really don't know what to expect out of our C levels in a better time. I'll reserve judgement.

However if he really wants to make it a generation thing, id' like to start with a easily researchable fact. The average age of Congress is 57. How's that for an example of productivity? Get off your high horse OP.

Anonymous170474,

You have just solidified that 2nd posters argument, about OKC being country bumpkin backwards people. ($200-$215k for a nice home in OKC?) Yea right! Have you looked at many homes in this price range? They are cheaply made, cookie cutter, "Home Creations" shit buckets. These are the homes that your typical $30,000 Millionares are buying/building in West Edmond. Most nice homes, in this area of NWOKC/Edmond are being built/sold @ $125-$130 sq ft. So, at an average of 4,000 sq ft, your looking at an average cost of $520,000 for a "nice" house. So, maybe you have set yourself lower standards...or maybe you are using statistics of home prices in bad areas of town..like south of Memorial road..but its just not realistic.

A guy in my IT dept was let go and he made 64K year, per his own pay stub, 115K is a great pay considering an average NICE home in Edmond for example is 200K - 250K.

The city will suffer no doubt, no where to go. Who is next to lay off?

Hahaha, $115k dead end job. If a married couple had both partners making that amount, they would be in the top 3.5% of income in the United States. Stop acting like a majority of employees pull six figures. You're a f***ing joke. I'm guessing you have at some point in your life owned both a Hummer, and an Affliction tee shirt.

115K is much better than 420 a week on welfare, unless of course you guys live with your parents. He is doing quite well with the right deduction to 401K.

Do you even lift bro? Because I wouldn't even get out of bed in the morning for anything less than $150-$175k a year. Seriously, there are some feeble minded country bumpkin Okies up in here.

I have to agree that your post is beyond pompous. Many people do not sniff $115K at any point in their career. While I realize those types of salaries are common in this industry, they come with the risk of current environmental forces which we are now seeing. The salary and age of OP are no indication of their drive, desires, or performance. As was stated previously, you are in fact a piece of shit. Your house of cards may get the best of you someday too.

You say "only $115" like is peanuts?? The average household income in okc is $51k. That's two adults working.

So why don't you shit your self entitled ass up.

I make well above 115k and I'm under 30. But I came from the bottom. So I respect the struggle. You sir/madam are a piece of shit. I hope you work under me someday cause I will fire your ass so fast...........oh wait. You came from chk, you'll never get hired here to start anyway.

If you're 52, and still only being compensated $115k annually, then you have no drive or desire to better yourself. That's the only reason why you still have a job, because they know they've got a zombie that is happy to put in work for only $115,000. Enjoy your dead end job!
