If rampant cronyism and nepotism is known about by HR and higher ups (which it is) and not punished, this is the same as promoting it.

None of the cronies were let go, even the absolutely worthless ones. I would have thought they would be the first to go.

cronyism and nepotism are also done by higher ups and HR always supports what they do.
