Thread regarding Devon Energy Corp. layoffs

Oct 8th will be open dialog for downsizing with the heads of multiple departments.

Some of the rigs were built just for Devon with a 3-6 year contract. It would cost the company more money to lay those down. For example, NM has 6 contract rigs and OK has 3...so thats 9 rigs that must keep pumping.

Permian has 9 going right now, Wyoming has 2, and Oklahoma has 5 or 6. Not sure about the Eagle Ford since BHP runs them for us.

With 19 rigs running and more to be laid down about 4000 out of the 5600 employees are useless.
