You must have known someone important Negotiater, no one else I know, including myself got that kind of severance. Insurance through the end of December? Mine was through the end of August, and 1 week for each full year of service, plus unused vacation.

Well I was laid off out of corporate so maybe you were in a business unit that did better or maybe they do better for people with shorter tenure. I can tell you I was one week shy of an anniversary date and they sure didn't round up for the compensation. Consider yourself fortunate. And yes, just about everyone else does a better job during lay offs compensating employees and in some cases even bring in recruiting firms and temp agencies for the laid off folks to visit before leaving. NOV pay is sub-standard for the industry and their compensation when you leave is well below standard as well.

I disagree with Anonymous141824. I received 2 full weeks plus additional 2 weeks and 2 weeks vacation pay. still have all my med & dental benefits until end of December 2015. I had a short tenure. Just 1 full year.

It's one of the worst severance packages in the industry. I suppose we should be happy we get anything, right?

it was 1 week of pay for every year of service but no 2 weeks in lieu of notice. you do get vacation you've accrued and insurance through the end of the month. All in all, not terrible but not great either. If you have short tenure you are screwed though as you may only get zero or 1 week of pay.
