Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Don't you love it how HR...

changes a policy that no one is complaining about (time off accrual and payout).....and try to spin it as a great deal for team members. Nice work JK you are best in breed!

I can't believe grown ups are begrudging another adult a glass of wine - who are you prudes? I get it if you're AA and it makes you uncomfortable but really

If he doesn't he is a fool. She has presided over all the crappy HR policies, talent management programs, hiring decisions, etc.... that have led to Brian's reason to be here.

Do you think BC will move JK out the door like he did KT?

Might have been drinking and missed the meeting. She has missed bts points for years perhaps due to her wine she openly brags about

I'm pretty sure JK leads HR and is also part of Executive team.

You think that HR changed this policy? Like they have the authority to unilaterally change a policy or benefit. It was the executive team that made the change, you can be sure of that.

No one ever said HR types had any brains or communication skills, they only have to be evil. Target HR excels in that category.

New excuse to take Fall National Week off, have to use my bank up or lose it! Don't want to hear JK preach culture, unless I've had 2 bottles of wine.

Yeah this PTO stuff is garbage. But I have to agree the most egregious thing I read is the shitty maternity/paternity leave policy. Everyone else in the world, at least companies that ACTUALLY give a shit about well being are significantly increasing paid maternity/paternity leave rather than making a pointless gesture and trying to blow sunshine up everyone's arses. When is it Jodee's time to pursue other opportunities. The endless calls from her that we need to change the culture, yet in my 11 years she hasn't done a damn thing about culture. Buh-bye JK.

Can't wait to see the other new programs JK alluded to - changes to rewards & recogniton (read - pay cuts coming, that you will love) and Talent Management ( read - we will make sure you never get promoted and you will be satisfied ).

God bless Target for worrying so much about my welfare (but really, please stop).

Much sympathy for our non-exempt peers. Heard a lot of angry groans and mutterings about quote-unquote transformation from NE cubes today.

And they wonder why BTS results keep getting worse....FOCUS leaders on the problems, not the non problems. I get you don't want some big a** accrual out there...but this is your answer. Did JM dream this up while wetting himself thinking about his new COO gig?

Apparently KMG leaders have been poor bonders with their new infants in the past. They are being asked to take an additional 8 weeks off beyond what non KMG get. But read this and see if clear to you - eligible for up to 8 weeks of flex pto pay while on an approved, unpaid loa - wtf, is it pto or unpaid...this is maddening.!!!!

Well, if this is how Target wants to play it then I will be taking a lot of time off in the next 12 months....sorry team, company made me do it. We'll get to all that work in 2017.

My bad on maternity leave. Could they make everything any LESS clear??

by

141158, maternity leave is NOT going from 6 to 2 weeks. It is an additional 2 weeks paid on top of the 6 to 8 standard weeks for exempt.

My bad on PH - appears they are not going away. But it does highlight 141167's point that leaders can't give straight dope in easy to read format, crap all over those pages that is designed to distract, not aide understanding.

141169 - personal holidays were not mentioned as going away. They were simply called out as not changing.

Reality is they took away personal holidays...so no one is really getting much more time off.

In fact non-exempts are having a week of sick pay per year taken away

Corporate leaders have become the equivalent to Politicians, can't believe a word they say cause everything is spun and twisted into useless talking points. Just have a real conversation about why you changed it - to save Fricken cash and screw the little guy.

Why only exempts getting an increase in vacation time. There is no added benefit in the new plan for non exempts

Going down to 2 weeks paid for maternity leave (from 6 weeks) when everyone else is giving MORE is a big mistake.
