It is almost like they want the HDD business to tank. You can't let go your best people because they fall under an underperforming VP or SVP. Move them somewhere else. Just drives me crazy to see this everyday. All the good people are going to the competition and will be jabbing away at our business.
upper mngmnt has lots of stock. WANTS layoffs to keep stock price up. your pain their gain
Content Solutions dept hit hard on Friday, 8/21/2015.
About half of Mountain View office layed off and most of Irvine officed booted. Were all working mandatory 7-day work weeks leading up to this. Thanks David B!!!
Vps, senior directors escape layoffs. most highly paid should first to go save money. No sudden death layoff and allowed lots time find Good new job. Middle level, director and below gets all pain. Powerful people take advantage.
You should be fair. Some VPs did amazing things. they deserv big credit, made big sacrifice, built the company. Others became vp's for bad reasons - friends with poweful people, kiss up to them. Kiss ups should not be vp's. So keep the good vp's, honor their great contributions. Lay off the ones who didn't desrve the title.
they won't lay off VP's. Sharks don't eat each other.
When they laid me off, the VP was there. I tried to talk and the VP cut me off, said it wouldn't change anything to talk. Worst experience of my life. Some multi-millionare VP saying they need to save money by cutting my little salary. Hey, here's an idea: cut a bunch of VP's. WD will save a fortune and nobody would notice they're gone...
