Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Is TTS hiring people with agile experience during a hiring freeze?

Outside of engineers, TTS has been on a hiring freeze since the arrival of MM. We have heard all about how important the survey was to this transformation and based on our results we will be placed in the appropriate roles post transformation.

It has been rumored in TTS that there has been some hiring happening during the hiring freeze. I keep hearing that people have been hired from outside Target with agile experience to fill roles post transformation. I sure hope these are just rumors but if it is true it speaks volumes to the new Target. All you hear from our HR partners is we have to be fair and consistent and those of us under the hiring freeze are not allowed to move roles or attempt to find other roles within the company.

God Speed during the next few days/weeks but be warned because it seems like we in TTS or the CoE are not getting the fair and consistent treatment we hear so much about.

Only if they can somehow leverage your role to propel their career, otherwise you will be stabbed in the back no sooner then your first GTKY at the Starbucks.

I would feel weird about being a new hire a week after a bunch of people in my pyramid were just laid off - however, team members at target are really good people who wouldn't treat you badly because of the timing of your joining the team, they aren't going to let it reflect on you. The big question is, are you the type of person who absorbs other people's stress and discontent? If so, this may be a bad move for you. If you're great at keeping some distance from the buzz and stir that's likely to be present mid-September, then welcome aboard! This is a time of big changes and it would be a chance to be part of 'the transformation'.

Yes, we are still hiring as needed. No, it doesn't seem right. HR is HR, like all companies they are the politicians. Kissing babies and stealing their candy at the same time. They will say what is necessary to maintain the state desired of the people. It is a role a certainly would never want to be in.

Personally bi am on the fence as money and opportunity for large company are great. I am worried about being accepted and all the company turmoil I read about. Any thought about joining target

I am a scrum master that has been approached by target recruitment but told I will not be able to start until 2nd week of September due to major restructuring. So original post seems to make sense. Position would we in stores area
