Take that lesson from the executives...that routinely dispose of their QC stock holdings every so month or so in a timed sales, no matter what the price is.
Because you were greedy probably. Like I always say.. You should turn and burn your espp. You get a pretty nice discount off of FMV prices. You can't really beat that return anywhere else...Learn from this. If QC does well, your RSU/options should be more than compensate you. You don't need to hold onto that ESPP to try to get Long Term capital gains...Because in many cases, that potential long term capital gains ends up being a long term capital loss... I'd rather pay more taxes on a short term capital gain, then taking a long term capital loss.
