Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Earnings report article today

Saw the positive articles this morning about earnings. Within all of those same articles it said "The company has said it will cut about 16,000 corporate jobs".

Does this include all of the past lay-offs, including Canada, or is there a coming blood bath unlike any seen so far?

One of the articles I read now has a correction from 16,000 to "several thousand." Either Brian mumbled it or they heard it/reported it wrong.

138525 may be paranoid, but as the old saying goes, "just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean that they AREN'T out to get you"....or in this case that that aren't trying to get people to leave. Whatever the truth of the matter is, the entire process has been appallingly managed and implemented, the communication has been non existent.

Paranoia is a thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of irrationality and delusion.(1) Paranoid thinking typically includes persecutory beliefs, or beliefs of conspiracy concerning a perceived threat towards oneself (e.g. "Everyone is out to get me"). Paranoia is distinct from phobias, which also involve irrational fear, but usually no blame. Making false accusations and the general distrust of others also frequently accompany paranoia. For example, an incident most people would view as an accident or coincidence, a paranoid person might believe was intentional.

Rather psychopathic behavior, I's say:

Characteristics of Corporate Psychopaths and Their Corporations

Summary by J. Scarlet

From the books, Snakes in Suits by Dr. Paul Babiak others forge careers in corporations.” (1).

Corporate psychopaths can control their behavior and that of others much more effectively than violent criminal psychopaths can, (Boddy, 42). Although they appear charming, charismatic and likeable, corporate psychopaths are emotionally disconnected to others, viewing them as objects to be used, (2). Of their psychopathic traits, the least noticeable are their manipulative behaviors and callousness, (42).

It is not difficult for these psychopaths to rise to very high levels in corporations, particularly in today’s uncertain and constantly changing corporate climates, (Clarke, 10). There are actually three and a half times more psychopaths in senior managerial positions than there are in the general population, (Boddy, 104).

Seems like our fearless leaders put that statement out there to freak out the remains and encourage more people to jump ship. Such nice FFF people!

Hmmm last I checked, target EMPLOYS 16,000 employees at headquarters and India locations, so that would mean we'd be firing everyone LOL
