When old timers at the Q get laid off, we retire, after milky decades on the stock option bandwagon and living off of passive income. When millenials get laid off, they have to relocate to high cost Bay Area and pay 40-50+% in rent, and live in an area where home prices are 8x+ over salaries, and start all over on the bottom of the food chain working 70+hours as a grunt.

Yeah, it's good to be old. One time early in my career the stock rose so much that the ESPP plan ended up paying for, um... something. "What was that, Mabel?!!" Oh heck, I forgot.

What is your point exactly? It's good to be old? You're fortunate to have been born at the right time and have joined the company at the right time. It's more chance than anything else. You could say the same for many that also made millions from being an employee at the right time at other companies like Facebook, Google, Apple, etc.
