Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Next year, 5,000 empty rentals as layoffs from Q, Intel, Broadcom cause people to leave for work in other cities.

Some software guys might get jobs locally in San Diego, others will have to move.

Good luck renting out your slums, landlords.

Anonymous137937, You can get pretty close to $300k/year in San Diego if you're good at managing your money and good at your job, and that would go 2x a lot further than $300k in the Bay Area. But then again, it won't matter for you, because chances are you won't be seeing $300k regardless of where you are. That's why you need to still rent, regardless of where you end up working.

YOu can make $300K in the bay area if you are good. Can't do that in San Diego.

Lol.so I guess instead of jacking up rents 5% every six month we will have to raise it only by 4%..The nice part is that where you go, you'll bend over renting, renter...especially.in the bay area. Its a nationwide problem. Supply shortage where the jobs are.
