Anonymous118741, which specific precommercial devices outside of qc did you use for comparison? Apple a9? Sounds hard to know what is sampling all over the planet.

A chip consuming heat sounds good.

its funny, i am working on that chip, i assure you it consumes less heat as compared to exynos(14nm) or apple a8 processor for similar workload. Also for single threaded performance it blows out any other arm chip sampling on this planet. Whether it becomes commercial success or not or customers pick it up or not, i don't know but technically its superior chip. It will also make me sad if the custom cpu chip designers who have architected this chip are let go, it's out competetive advantage.

Dont trust even if QCOM officially deny it....only if product actually ship and I see money coming IN...

If rumor is not true then QCOM should issue statement denying it...till rumor is officially denied I am going to assume it to be CORRECT!!! Qcom and its management lost its credibility and most likely this rumor is correct based on feedback from folks who actually work on this stuff...

Let me quote the last paragraph from the link: "Ricciolo hasn't posted any evidence that backs up his comments, and there is no anecdotal evidence that suggests that the Snapdragon 820 overheats. For now, we recommend taking his comments with a grain of salt until there is some solid proof that what he says is true."

See, even the article writer himself doesn't get a confirmation yet, and some people here already start to treat it like a newly discovered fact. What can I say? Call me next time when you see aliens do exist!

Anonymous118465 : I DONT care if its competitor who is posting info...they are welcome to do so and they probably has more inside info than us insiders. All I care is info ,Wether its true, false or suspicious is my call. If you are really a concerned employee I advice you to be very very skeptical and give benefit of doubt to negative info unless it's proven wrong. You are not helping by shouting "Don't worry,Everything in Fine" because everyone know how things manipulated in big corporations for benefit of few..

Its all result of pushing engineers to work like animals day and night...Looks like now engineers are fed up and start cutting corners... or its result of too much politics?

Did VP of marketing already come out and say 4k layoff rumor was "rubbish". I'm sure 820 issues are "rubbish" as well.

Q project execution machine broken down by putting too much stress on it in last few years to milk as much as from it. This is all result of it...you cant expect quality product anymore...S810 was first result of it and S820 is BIG brother of it...
