Many are creating fear here, I don't see any massive layoffs coming seriously. All I can see is restructuring of teams/groups. Quite a few positive sentiments in the market - with Iran deal, Cuban relationship and possible Greek's economy revival, there will be a plenty of good news to come and economy will only get better in the next 3-4 years. In the coming years, finding engineers will be tough for Qualcomm if they want to grow...so I don't think they will take the risk of laying off yet. It is okay if the non-performers are shown the door but that should happen in every company.

I think all directors and manager/lead types who became useless after working in QCOM should be shown mercy and given opportunity to IOS to QREF.

And yes there are layoffs coming; absolutely. I have 15 directs and been told "numbers are coming" as in headcount reduction is going to be passed down to me. My feel is that I can absorb it from temps and really poor performers....
