Just wait for Korea and Japan investigations. They will come soon too. Now that China settled it will open the floodgates.
Thats why they got in trouble in China and we needed to settle for huge penalty....hopefully this EU thing does not turn that ugly..
What was really funny was some of the players ended up buying the complete solution (modem+app processor+ connectivity) for a lot less than had they just bought the modem + app processor alone...But the connectivity pieces were so bad, that they ended up buying the connectivity chips from somewhere else and just didn't use the one provided by the Q.
Actually, Qualcomm is guilty of doing this. I remember many times for a customer in china it would cost more if the customer bought just bought the LTE modem or LTE modem + app processor, instead of buying complete solution including the LTE modem + app processor + connectivity chip. This was done to squeeze out all the connectivity players that didn't have a complete solution, despite the connectivity solution from the Q sucking bigtime.
Here goes big chunk of our cash reserve....looks like we need a worthy competition to avoid these things. MTK is not up to our standard yet -:(
Ouch. Sounds like an excuse to fill the EU bank accounts back up with money after they gave it all to Greece. Maybe QC should cut out the middleman and give it directly... It's funny how none of the money that the EU receives from corporate fines actually goes to the affected companies or consumers.
