It started at the beginning of 2015. As discrete as possible.,regular layoffs in IT for example. And phony PIP's.
I wouldn't read much into it. A press announcement is a discrete event, while rolling out a big layoff takes a lot of time and effort to coordinate and execute (no pun intended). It won't all be perfectly synchronized.
So they have some news to give to the Street next week. "We have already started a comprehensive cost review that is leading to X savings, and are planning to carry out further reductions leading to..."
