Last week, The Wall Street Journal reported that head of Intel Corporation’s (NASDAQ:INTC) huge venture capital arm, Arvind Sodhani has decided to leave the company in January. Wendell Brooks, who recently joined Intel as president of Mergers & Acquisitions, from Allen & Co., is expected to replace Mr. Sodhani, who spent nearly 10 years as president of Intel Capital.

As an insider I thought it was unfair for Mike and Hermann. Mike was recruited heavily then all he found were Intel antibodies. As for Hermann Eul, they pushed him into a difficult role, just when he got it turned around he was "re-assigned" into another difficult role. It was clear to employees he got the worst assignments because he (and Mike Bell) were essentially the outsiders, outsiders who got ZERO support from the rest of the insider Intel Execs who only "say" they want to change (but in reality they don't based on how the business is doing). Despite the tough assignments Hermann stuck it out and did a good job only to be rewarded with the circuit announcement that he "will be leaving when his contract is up". Used, and discarded. Sorry Hermann and Mike, you deserved better.

Nobody cares about Intel management shake ups. In fact, the more the better, with the perception that Intel is trying to make changes.

On July 1, 2015, Intel entered into a transition agreement with Ms. James setting forth her responsibilities between the date of the agreement and the date of her retirement. Under the transition agreement, Intel will make a transition payment in the amount of four million dollars, less applicable withholding taxes, provided that Ms. James remains employed through January 2016 and subject to Ms. James executing a release.

------------ In a regulatory filing, Intel said it will pay James $4 million to stay with the chipmaker until January. The company paid her more than $9 million in salary, stock awards and other compensation last year.

Intel executives Hermann Eul, manager of its communications group, and Mike Bell, who led Intel's effort to develop microprocessors for new devices, are also leaving the company. Both segments have been a disappointment for Intel thus far and Bell's exit isn't a surprise -- he was reassigned to an unspecified role in April.
