You can't get rid of the so called Intel lifers that easily, these folks know how to game the system. Most of them still remain. The folks who were affected by this layoff had health problems, or had issues with their managers, or had too many managers in the last few years. The only way to get rid of the Intel lifers is to eliminate the positions these guys hide in - managers with very few direct reports, non technical jobs in engineering departments, other useless BS'ing jobs where they don't have any real responsibilities (there are a ton of these at Intel, many created just for them by their manager buddy)
In all fairness to BK and Intel execs, since this round included senior, Intel lifers, they are much more likely to complain and threaten to file lawsuits.
To give BK some credit, he is shaking things up with forcing some execs to leave and now getting rid of many Intel "lifers". Things should be better after the smoke clears.

The top questions employees voted so far are all about lay-off. I guess BK will have to address the topic in Q2 BUM. It would be interesting to hear what he would say about it. I have turned in my Intel laptop. Can some one post a copy of transcript here after BUM?
BK sucks.. He's a puppet, knew him when he lived in Ahwatukee/Phoenix... He won't last long.
Time for Intel to bring in outside CEO and shake up the company, once and for all..

I think overall he was exceeding expectations (let's face it, there must have been reluctance from the board otherwise the decision would have been quicker and they wouldn't have put RJ as president creating a pseudo 2-in-a-box) until this transparently cold and arguably unethical event!
