Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Anyone gone back as a Contractor?

I was part of the Canada cut, and really do want to go back. No luck getting back in as a FT team member, now considering working as a contractor - basically securing a oositing wit a manger first, then goung to a staffing company to process my W2 payroll.. Anyone here have experience going back in a same/similar role, but now from the outside as a Contractor?

I would be careful what area you are planning to come back as a CT. If TTS, the new CIO has made a very strong indication he wants/plans to reduce or get rid of onshore CT headcount entirely. Best of luck.

Thanks for the feedback! To be clear on the $$$ wage 114065, are you saying you ended up with a 20% higher TOTAL comp (year over year) than your salaried comp (salary, TM discount, health insurance, 401(k) + Pension, bus pass, etc.) or simply a higher hourly rate than dividing your previous salary by 2080 hours? I've been researching this for months, and have seen wildly different numbers. The strategy I'm going with is to add up the value of EVERY benefit that Target provided, and divide it by the hours I was normally actually AT WORK each year. This results in an hourly wage of about 50% more than the hourly rate from dividing salary by 2080. I'd sure welcome real-world numbers.

Yes, do it. You get isolated from the crap BS and your paycheck is larger.

Yes. Doing similar work and making 20% more working less hours. Also not caught up in bs.
