Should cut all the VPs and directors
Anonymous112644, if you have been in 7 for 8 years, and now still has no sign to be promoted to 8, get your resume ready, it's time leave intel, there are better places for you.
2012 to 2015 grade 6 should be just fine. It took me 4 years from 6 to 7.
I have been a grade6 since 2012...so is that considered "too long". How long does it take to get promoted from grade 6 to 7 on average?
It is obvious, the grade levels have the limit, from 3 to 6 vs. from 7 to 10 is totally different. If Intel really wants to cut those grades 7 and above, then just go with the method that will make intel no longer a company that worth to spend time in.
too much time means??
Anonymous112633, it would be hard to do that, this will impact many high ranked people. Say PE level 10 and above, how many years they stay in one level would be considered low performer ? How they could move to next level within 2-3 years? What about BK? How many years he stayed at same level? LoL
The next round could be based on time in grade. If you have spent "too much time" in a grade level that could be considered as a performance issue. I'm sure HR dept and the bean counters have created models and analyzed several what if scenarios.
because different ways to cut, this time is performance based to cut SSL 4/5 people, and not allow them to come back to Intel.
next time they will cut entire groups that are not function well or impacted by business decisions. In this type of cut, they put those people in pool, usually allows people look for another job within Intel for certain amount of time (usually 2-3 months) before completely remove them out.
Why would they do it in 2 rounds in 4 months. They might as well do it in 1 round.
The next cut shall be function groups based cut
Really, I won't be surprised on that.
because Intel got Altera's headcounts, to keep flat headcount by end of year, Intel needs cut more, and more......
