Lets be fair. Not all principals/directors/VPs etc. got there just by sucking up. Some of them are way technically smarter and organizational than you and I. Some of them got there for the "time served" with their buddies, for sure, but not all. Unfortunately, in pruning times, it's very easy to retain the "old boys/girls" networks since they work so well together, like a well oiled engine, instead of making the real changes that would make the big difference. That's how large corporations crumble over their own bloated weight. Is Q next in line for this inevitable corporate death spiral? Maybe, maybe not, quite yet!

They should let go the troop of PM, Principal and directors....these guys do not contribute. I am still surprised that we continue promoting people to Principal & Director level without showing real contributions to groups...until Q make right changes then will be a better company..
What is the point of this post? You can make the same statement at all the big multi Billion dollar business. Total FAIL thread.

They just come to office, read news, do day trades, have lunch, go to gym..question is what do 100,000 employees in Intel do
No, they are not. I would say a good 5000-7000 are purely slave drivers that do not add any value. This is essentially 90% of the program management office. Only 10% of program managers actually do their jobs of communicating clearly to ensure a project is running smoothly
