For those who need a lesson on how to BTFD which explains everything in no uncertain terms: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0akBdQa55b4 Also, look to Mr. Panos for a great explanation on the strategy that the Greeks are employing to seek revenge and their fair share of WWII war reparations from Germany in the form of bailouts: https://youtu.be/Zvl9N9GdraQ Remember that WWII would've taken a turn for the worse if the Greeks hadn't delayed the Germans in The Battle of Crete such that they would reach Russia in the freezing cold winter. The Greeks don't fight like heroes...heroes fight like Greeks because they saved the world from the German schnitzel faces.

This whole post is off-topic for this site, but based on the Greek referendum, a buy might now might make sense. Though so would a buy in a DOW or S&P indexed fund.

This would be a completely bonehead move if you haven't sold any of your espp shares and/or still holding onto a significant portion of RSU/stock options, regardless of the financial state of Q. There are so many factors that can affect the stock price of a company, and most of them are not even related to Q itself, some of which might not be a simple "dip". For example, Fed raising interest rates spooking stock buying.... What you are proposing is exactly what a lot of former Enron employees did and how a lot of former enron employees got so screwed. Not only did you get greedy and hold onto all of your qualcomm shares that the company gave you and didn't do timed sales to cash in some of the gain, but you took bonehead to the next level and buy more shares with your own money. Meanwhile, people like Steve and other senior managers are doing their nice regular timed stock sales so they can lock in gains, even if the stock goes up or down....Congratulations, not only did you work for a peanut Qualcomm salary, you've also used some of your own money to buy shares from senior managers that sells every month. So that nice Porsche or Ferrari that they drive is partially funded by your own money that you just "invested" into the company's stock...And IF the stock comes crashing down... Congrats, on being tripple screwed. Because if the stock crashes, Q will do layoffs. You lose part of your RSUs that aren't vested, your vested RSU's and ESPP are in the tanks, and you now have less emergency cash now, because you took that money and bought Q shares that are also now in the tanks. And to add insult to injury, your are now unemployed.

Why on earth would you want to be that greedy and that stupid to concentrate everything on one thing? IF Q is really going recover well, your existing RSU/ESPP should be more than sufficient to compensate you well. And if it doesn't do well, it won't matter how many shares you have. Amateur. Obviously, someone with not many shares. But hey, if you want to double down on stupidity, go for it. You might has well hand your money directly over to one of the senior managers that's doing their regular monthly/quarterly timed stock sales!

QC stock is down today primarily because of "Sell" Recommendation of respected Analysts and new target price of 55 due to increasing competition and unexpected weakness in the China market. Even on days when the Nasdaq Has closed higher recently, QC Stock is often down. Next excuse??
