Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Macnamara compares the TTS financial picture to Greece debt crisis...

And that was in his first day introductory email to TTS team members!!! What is he going to slash, and how quickly? We've already been told 30 percent reduction in expense for 2015 - what areas are gonna get destroyed by Macnamara, Bain and Cornell?

Anonymous111955 you're right. Also, for years the business and "Leadership" have made it their priorities and put $$ into churning out shinny (looking) new functionality and technology that doesn't integrate well and isn't supportable... ignoring the voices of "Ops" as those calling in the wilderness to fix the stability problems.

The current Development / Ops / Infrastructure model isn't working. So, DevOps is a model that will hold all more accountable to build stable, supportable solutions, because the same teams that develop will have to support it.

As someone who works in TTS, I'd love to disagree with you guys. However, it's not that we're lazy. It's that most of the people left here are completely non-technical and don't know how anything works. You see, our previous "leadership" thought it would be an excellent idea to outsource all technical functions (and knowledge) to Target India and TCS. We are now all seeing why this was such an unbelievably bad idea. As a technical person, I really hope our new execs figure out how to fix this mess. Oh, and most of us don't get bonuses.

Op- that is completely inaccurate... He compared our technology debt... Not Tts financials.

Technology debt is in reference to all the old systems and technologies that target kept around because they were too busy trying to meet the unreal expectations of the business

Agreed! I think it was Saturday that some poor sap posted a note from the stores perspective, mentioned specific system issues etc. and the responses were some nonsense about not wanting to shop in the stores and about Walmart eating our lunch. People on this Board: What do you think we do at Target? We sell product in stores and online(sort of). That's it. If we can't get the product to the floor or staff the stores because our Latte drinking HQ weenies are clueless, no one will have a job soon.

TTS - Why don't you get your lazy A$$ to work and fix ALL of the crashing systems from this last week in our stores. I know your very busy worried about your next bonus, but this is getting ridiculous. We couldn't run payroll for three days last week. Unacceptable! Own your Shit!
