Ans: When you offer help/suggestions you're thanked profusely and asked more questions. The Intel I joined in the late 90s was a growth company and the corporate culture and my colleagues showed it. But towards the end of my time at Intel the response to help was typically: "mind your own business". This is the way of company life just like it is the way of all life: birth, thrive, weaken then die - it's a cycle. Intel is weakening and will eventually die. The phone business is already lost to ARM - there is no winning it back (it's the SW library). On the high end they're still in thrive mode but technology shifts such as D-wave quantum computers with 1000+ qubits promise to eventually put an end even to that lucrative business just like Intel ended it by taking over from DEC/Sun. So there it is. Like me you were fired (call it VSP if you really want). Take time to feel the pain. Then move through it and realize that you are lucky! Lucky not to have to go through the ongoing pain of living daily inside a dying business! BTW on a personal note I am happier, healthier, a better husband and father than I was when I was at Intel (& making more $ now too). :)

On Circuit home page, upper right corner, just under "Ask Ivy for HR Help". Trending:Blogs section. yes, heart breaking after read those, and even I did not receive such ISP, I think it is time for me to look for another job. this is not the company I want to stay.
Intel HR is a joke, there was an instance where one of senior manager in Legal got into a road rage on highway with another employee, followed him for 3 miles to Intel campus just to threaten him that he can be fired and used very unethical and racist language. This was despite this big shot Legal manager was at fault. Though employee reported to his manger, apparently no action was taken. That is the status of HR at Intel. They are just CYA

Sad, a few recent posts in Intel's internal blog from dedicated, high contributing folks recently laid off. Very insightful, but surprisingly not bitter. Very courageous of these folks.

Wow, lots of trolls here (or 1 person posting a lot!) :) Apparently, according to the troll if you accomplish something you need to be obedient to the personal/entity recognizing that accomplishment (in this case Intel). Sorry, don't buy it. Buy the way I wasn't unhappy at Intel, but I was fired (sure VSP was the term used). BTW Just because I am now happier outside of Intel don't assume that I was unhappy inside.
