110278 ... DeRodes was MIA long before transitioning to advisory role ... that was BS cover for the fact that Uncle Bob needed to return to the interim role originally brought onto fill ... for KT ... this is BS cover for her to save face and Target not have to explicitly pay out her contract ...

Apparently we have real man in charge now, not going to be cowering in corner suite worrying about firing an underperforming female.

Going to have to cut some more.

Anonymous110270 - Yes, it does sound familiar - Target's former CIO, Bob DeRodes, had the same "advisory" role after being let go. I can assure there was no "advising" going on after that announcement.

@Anonymous110266 - You've got it backwards: it is Brian that is spinning it, not the media. The media is correctly reporting it as Kathee being let go, it is Brian that is sugar-coating it to the Target team members. Seems cowardly to me - you can still thank her for her contributions to the company, but call it like it is. At this point, it makes me wonder what communication I can trust from Brian in the future.

More Kool-Aid, anyone?

Make no mistake, she's been pushed out. 26 years with this company, every executive that left on their terms has a succession plan in place and a long period prior to transitioning from their position. They filed the 8-K today. She's "agreed" to be an at will employee after being removed form her exec pos. and then agree to the terms of non disclosure, blah, blah blah. Sound familiar?

$26 million. And then gets to keep her salary through the Spring of 2016. An insult to hard working people who only see crumbs.

The media is spinning it as her getting pushed out, but Brian's email made it sound like she was being promoted to a strategic advisory role. I'm confused.

C-suite just became a little less diverse today. Let's see who he finds.

BC gave her a very flattering communication today. But I'm sure he sent one of those emails to all the other 20k+ team members he's cut loose.

Hey, she cashed in 26 million in stock a few months back. I think she's going to be okay.

Not too close to Gregg by a mile, they weren't even on talking terms - Bloviating BullseyeBob. How about the fact that she runs the supply chain which is unfortunately not quite up to par. She's in charge of merchandise, which unfortunately is not consistently instock to sell.

Too close to Gregg maybe? Soon Cornell will require all loyal to him to wear a Target bullseye on their sleeve.

This reminds me of the sports saying "it's easier to fire a coach than fire the team" but it seems Target is doing a good job at the latter too.
