Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

We eat our own (yum)......who should be next?

Now that the upper ranks (Kathee T)) are joining us in the transformation fun, aside from Jodee and Tina, who else should join the celebrations? Haven't seen anyone touched from Target Properties/Store Design since Griff "pursued other interests". Surprising, as his hand picked minions are still there (including one unnamed dept head that went "consultant" on us15......nice gig. Show up a couple days a month...........)

Guess EVERYONE has to watch their backs now, not just us peon worker bees that are left.

To former engaged targeter ... at the executive left that Kathee, Mark, et al live at there a number of employment factors that need to be considered that can make removal difficult (more difficult than at peon level). First is the existence of contracts to retain the senior executives. If someone doesn't want to go, they need to either violate some tenet of the contract (which probably doesn't include performance measures) or hold out for a parachute /exit plan that can't be refused/passed up that would include a payout of the contract. Where it may have been "easy" for the board to oust Beth and Gregg following the breach, the same cant be said right now. I'm sure a contract is the reason Mark came back from Canada; and I can't fault the guy for failing if discovering the depths of Canada's issues. Second is who will fill the void until a replacement is named/sourced. If history is a guide, it is highly unlikely the historical model of internal grooming to the C-level will be paused for a while (so whoever thinks he/she's next in line can put down the tape measure and planning what can be done with their new office space). Brian might have some ideas of who he'd like to see join him, but that presupposes they would want to work with him again and do so at a mass retailer.

Anyone who advertises drinking while they work (reading all bts responses) while in a national meeting should have been axed at the time. Seeing Kathee leave is surprising. The package it looks like she is leaving with is pretty disgusting based on what she has been making in official insider transactions. There was also the dan r thing that seemed like it was a pretty sketchy based on who was just promoted into a similar position in the same time frame.

My op, for what its worth, there are way to many 'leaders' that don't contribute. layoffs were done poorly (layoff all individual contribs of a team and keep the managers that don't know how to contribute?) Kathee leaving may be a good sign for actual transformation ( which I didn't actually expect ). Kozlak also needs to get canned. But after Cornell was ok with Schindele coming back from CA after failing with CA distro there is not a lot of faith to be had.....

Hey OP, is your unnamed "consultant" isn't by any chance a certain 'design god' (RV) that unnecessarily increased the cost of every store we built, and didn't even know he had engineers that worked under him (when he was in the wrong position of director)?

I mean I have pooped in Anonymous 110376's shoes. If you've gone for the day you'll have a nice keepsake from me when you arrive tomorrow. Have a nice life.

Maybe it's because it's a beautiful day, or maybe it's because I've been walked, fed, brushed and took a pee, but I don't want anyone else to leave; I just want an end to the drama so I can focus on my work.

BC himself is next if he can't figure this out soon....

I'm sure board didn't hire him just to fire everyone. I could do that (and sadisticly) might enjoy it if that is what they wanted.

Stock is only up on expectations right now....better deliver.

I can take a stab at who WON'T be going.... CC in S&I, and JM in Finance.
