I realize many of you are anxious, looking for reliable posts regarding your positions. Many of you want bad news about the company you worked for to avenge your dismissal. You won't find it here. It's just business. More to the point, this is the oil business. We eat our own. High gain usually comes with a flip side. High risk. It's been that way for decades. The fact is, no one knows what's going to happen. Not even the VP's and top executives. The company has to adjust to protect the bottom line and it's often not pretty. Get over it. Move on.

Did you really think you could buy that lifted F350, that boat and those four wheelers when you were working at 7-11? Did you really think you were worth six figures? If you have no education, get one. If you have one, you'll transition into something else. If you have no hope of furthering you education and you're a hard worker, someone else will hire you. This is life. Adjust.

Most importantly, find God and learn to trust Him. Not OPEC. If you're over leveraged (you bought stuff you had no business buying) maybe He's trying to teach you something. He resists the proud but gives grace to the humble. If your family is in trouble, I will pray for you. If you're in the wilderness, keep walking. Don't sit on your your butt whining about how Weatherford did you wrong. I've watched many of my friends escorted off the premises and I may be next. It won't be the first time and probably won't be the last. But I guarantee you if I do, I won't spend my time blaming Weatherford. I'll thank God I'm still alive and healthy enough to look for another job.

Who said that all of the folks on here giving their opinion are not at Weatherford any longer? Many posters still work for this dysfunctional company. So don't go stand on your soap box thinking you know everyone and their individual situations you hypocritical self righteous ass. Also if you were/are one of those lucky ones being paid exuberant amounts of money to sit on your ass.. then good for you.. but some people were/are making just enough to make ends meet, and not living beyond their means. "Concerned Christian" .... Wow. You are going to hell just for claiming to be one. Get over yourself and get on your knees and either kiss your own ass or pray to God to forgive you for your insensitive, self egoism and hypocrisy!

Big talk from a man that still has his job. Be unemployed for 6 months after Weatherford hired you just two months before that after losing ANOTHER job 5 months previously. Then, watch others that were let go after you that have less oilfield experience and less education get their jobs back because they kissed the right ass and are skilled in BS. Go on several job interviews with other companies that never call back during all of this time. Be faced with losing your savings, health insurance, and your home, auto etc. that you worked very hard to get. Then, I might take some of what you're saying seriously.

Not going to play tug of war with the enemy but I do love it when God enters into the Devils forum ;) when I put it out there, I expected some would be offended but I don't have to defend God! Read deep into my message. There was no self righteous intent. This was intended to encourage the injured hearts. If I am coming off as self righteous then I humbly beg forgiveness and I will ask my Father to forgive me, get up and keep moving. The Word should be used as a staff to lift people up not as a rod to beat them over the head. Jesus asked the man at pool at Bethesda if he WANTED to be healed. Then He told him to take up his mat and walk. In other words, don't sit there complaining. Get up and move. And don't worry! It only serves the devil. Remember our Father promised us He will never leave us or forsake us. Jesus told us we will have trouble in the world but be of good cheer because He has overcome the world. James said, “My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.” And yes, I do share the gospel with my fellow man. Finding people that are hurting and encourage them by speaking to truth in love. Sometimes the truth hurts but ultimately it heals. You shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. To the OP-- As a concerned Christian, I am sure you preach to actual people as opposed to writing self-righteous posts on internet forums, right? I'm sure you go from office to office with your bible sharing scriptural advice to your fellow man in line with Matthew 24:14 right?? Judging people for worrying about their future and employment is a lot like telling someone suffering from depression to snap out of it and get better.

If you have the moral fiber to not be upset with Weatherford for laying you off (God forbid.. hehe), good for you.. but it's nothing to brag about. Doesn't the bible say that 'Pride comes before a fall', and 'let he who is standing beware he does not fall'? (Proverbs 16:18, 1 Corinthians 10:12)

I'm not judging anyone for their sins my friend. We will face the Great White Throne judgement in the end. If good church going Christians are let go, they understand that God has a bigger plan than Bernie. And, yeah, I did mostly come on here to preach the gospel. Not to judge but to encourage. God doesn't like whiner's but He does love (and bless) a broken and contrite heart. Try humbling yourself before God instead of arguing on some forum and complaining about your misfortunes. Christians, Thank you for the positive comments. We are iron sharpening iron. We edify one another by speaking the truth in love. Good honest post If you worked ate and slept WFT then probably this post will pass you by and you will be convinced WFT should still save you in return for you're loyalty. If like me you understand loyalty begins at home and its just business and the good times will return in a few years time and this site will have little or no visitors then the final outcome will be easier to accept.Concerned Christian post sums it up Family and health are the most important things to worry about if both of these are good then you will have the strength to move on hopefully to better things

Just one question for the original poster: What is your motivation for being on this forum? Surely it wasn't just to preach the word....you must fit one of the two categories you mentioned! I take it you've finally repented of your sin and won't show up on this forum again. God help all of us!

Very positive post but with that being said not everyone is bitter about being laid off because we all understand the oilfield business. What has made some employees and I speak for many is watching their managers abuse and steal from this company. (And those managers reading this post you know who you are). Most management git to stay and some very honest hardworking church going people got let go and that's a fact.

I love this.. well said. Yes, we all need first be thankful that we are alive and kicking. :) I have been a WFT employee for 11 years now and love the company and the people that I've worked with. I've made it through many layoffs and hope to make it through this one. If not, then it wasn't meant to be and I shall move on and hope to find as great of people to work with. That is one of my only fears of having to think about finding a new job, that I won't like the people I work with. I am fortunate so far, and hope to remain this way! All of you just keep your heads up and hope for a bright tomorrow. :) Peace!!

Best post so far and straight to the point. I unlike so many saved my money and didn't go crazy with it and when I got laid off got hired at another company the very next day. They wanted me back as a temp but it felt so good to say NOPE. I bet all the hands wished they went to the dentist before there benys ran out. So good luck to all because it's getting worse and not looking like it will be better soon.
