@ 135297: You can't necessarily assume that just because you pay for a higher level of Obama Care that it is better than an employer provided health care plan. You have to request/download copies of the Plans for each insurer. (They're about 80-100+ pp. long, depending on whether they contain the "carve outs" such as pharmacy benefits, vision, dental.) You have to also consider whether or not the Plan covers your wife's--and your--chosen physicians and specialists. Not all Plan physicians will be transferable to Obama Care. The Plans--including COBRA-- are also subject to change at the end of this year--which means you may want to keep COBRA until Dec. 31, but register for something else afterward. Your COBRA for 2016 will be the same as what QCOM is offering the remaining employees. All I can say is do you homework. You and your wife should figure out where she would like to recieve pre-natal and post-natal care, and what hospital she would prefer to use for the deliver. Then find out which plans will cover that, and compare them to COBRA
