Thread regarding Target Corp. layoffs

Anyone asked money for not getting fired ?

I am veteran at Target India. On 16th july was asked 15% of my CTC by manager for saving my position (5% now and 10% later). I tried to bring it down by bit, but he told me that is the norm across.

I initially agreed as i have 2 small kids and not many marketable skills, but later could not go ahead. can i report to integrity at Target without affecting my position (as i in starting agreed). Also can someone at mpls take it to HR there as we do not have trust in INdia leadership and HR

Don't worry. Target will bring fresh fruits everyday from PFresh and you will be asked to squeeze juice out. 15 % cut is acceptable in lieu of fresh juice.

Not for saving jobs. I have heard that people have paid to get jobs in TI. know couple of cases where the "technical" resource was not fit, but the hiring process was pushed thru with the blessing of the "referrer" even after the candidate failed the technical round.

I know couple of managers, whose background check would fail if done properly. They have fake experience.

No it highlights the fact that most in India have questionable integrity. Both in senior leaders and team member positions. The culture of bribes is very high throughout the country

based on below statement, it looks like a prank. nevertheless it highlights the bias which managers may have while making a decision on who stays and who goes. in that context whole leader's/manager survey and feedback is questionable....

This does not sound ethical (or legal) at all. I urge you to email or call the integrity hotline at Target so HR can investigate.

Why be snarky toward this person? It's a legitimate question he's asking... is it considered ethical by Target's HR (ER/LR) to talk somebody down on their wage with the insinuation that this will prevent them from being released. I don't know the first thing about Labor Relations or know anyone who does - I hope someone from that part of the company weighs in with a factual response,

Sounds like they feel your performance sucks. Start looking as your days to be fired are short
