Thread regarding Chesapeake Energy Corp. layoffs

An attempt to calm nerves and spread truth

The EC has discussed layoffs. No one WANTS to lay off anyone because at $45 oil and less than $3 gas, there is no where to go in OKC. It would devastate the city. They know that and are trying to avoid it.

Are we the best in OKC, in E&P?! We can prove it! I'm a long-timer... I've seen it all, from $0.75/share to $72/share. The market will turn around, but we have to be patient and diligent, working toward something better. All of you know what it takes, you just have to be willing to do it.

Um...no one is forcing you to be here. Leave, I'm sure Houston would love to have you. Believe it or not, outside of the small box you live in, there is plenty going on around OKC aside from O&G.

Who gives a f*** about okc? This city has always been a third tier toilet that real oil companies in Houston selectively dump money and fecal matter into.

The good times are over. I hope you have a network built, because okc is on the fast track to oblivion just like in the 80s.

CHK's focus is on the survival of the company, not OKC. Don't kid yourself.

I'll be the first to admit that there are changes to be supported, but also MANY to be questioned. The post was simply an attempt to be open, honest and transparent, sharing what I know, in hopes that it will bring reality into focus.
