oh man! same thing happened again in Q some months ago! suddenly a lot of people started receving some bs mail from an unsolicited newsgroup address, then everybody started to reply all "please remove me from this mailing list"... never seen such a lot of idiots at the same time!
lol. same thing happened to my previous company - "there was one email chain that was mistakenly sent to the entire company. everyone started hitting the reply all button to tell "everyone else" not to send mass emails."
