Unsure on who all is affected, but supposedly IT will be heavily affected. This is all rumor, but we'll see if it's true. Hope on the Devon page to read their threads.
So it's all going to be IT?!? That is crazy. I didn't think their IT department had that many people.
Word is coming in on Devon from contractors who are hearing directly from disgruntled managers. The word on the street is that they are keeping this very sneaky and are pulling 3-5 people in per day and letting them go. These contractors said they have heard between 600-800 employees. If you'll recall in April 2015 25% of IT was let go.
Supposedly this will affect up to 80% of IT and the remainder will assist the outsourced IT people that Devon will be using. I think it's Accenture.
Based on this information, I can't fathom that CHK would not follow suit.

The IT cuts at Devon happened in April. This is old news.

Sorry guys it is true - Half of Devon's IT will be gone by the end of the month. The new leadership of Devon will have to clean house and make deep cuts to turn earnings around. Devon has gotten lazy and arrogant. IT is not even liked by the rest of the company. They will out source to indian and 3rd party vendors. .

I just heard almost half of the DVN IT dept was cut. It's gonna be as bad or worse for CHK IT I'm afraid. Those of you in IT thinking you will be okay because you work hard may be sorely mistaken. Sometimes life is not fair and crap employees stay while the good ones get canned.
