QC replaced these American workers with cheap labor H1B Indians. Looks like QC is paying dearly for it now.
Another example of age discrimination. Age has nothing to do with being a dino. Would gladly take a 50+ yo with cutting edge skills than a 28 yo who has been porting code to yet another incarnation of a chip. That 50+ dude has seen a lot and can make better decisions for the long run. That dude can mentor the younger members of the team and benefit their careers. Balancing a youthful team with a more seasoned veteran is a winning formula.
Also realize that you too will be 50+some day needing to make a living.
They are probably some smart mother fockers.
I'm one - been here 20 years. Started when I was 41. I am not in an exec. position. Do not make anywhere close to 6 figures. No degree. Not an engineer. Not in QCT.
In a few months -- zero. QCOM hates old guys.
